Celebrity Reactions, Remembrances and "Where Were You" Memories of 9/11 (omg!)

As the tenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on American soil dawned, a host of celebrities around the nation took to Twitter to share their personal reflections and hopes for the future. Here's a sampling of what was written, including a dose of poignant "where were you" memories and other memorials.

Where were they?

Celebrity Chef Tyler Florence recalled his first-hand experience with the day's tragic events: "I watched the second plane crash into the towers from my apt in Brooklyn. The fire house across the street lost 17 firefighters. Crushing."

"So You Think You Can Dance" host Cat Deeley shared her appreciation of Big Apple residents: "This day 10yrs ago I was all in my own in NYC....but strangely didn't feel alone... That's what makes that city so special- The New Yorkers!"

"10 years ago, I was in the control room at CNNfn in NY as the first plane hit. Still remember typing chyrons as tears streamed down my face." -- Aarti Sequeira, Winner of the 2010 season of "Food Network Star."

JoAnna Garcia remembered "10 yrs ago 2day I woke up 4 the 1st taping of Reba. Turned on TV & watched the horror unfold in NYC & DC. I dropped 2 my knees & prayed... I prayed 4 everyone potentially injured or killed &their families & all of the brave rescue workers & firefighters I saw flooding the scene."

Chef Anne Burrell got personally involved: "10 years ago today I was a culinary school teacher...after I the towers fell we cooked all the food in the school and then delivered to to st vincent's hospital and rescue workers"

The Food Network's Bobby Flay was also there to lend a helping hand: "To all of the rescue workers I was honored to nourish 10yrs ago at ground zero with my fellow NYC colleagues/chefs....we will never forget."

Country singer David Nail recounted "My roommate woke me up. Was supposed to do vocals on first record! We never sang that day!"

Ariana Grande: I remember this day 10 years ago so vividly! I was in 2nd grade & my mommy came to pick me up early & hug me. What do you remember?"

Finally, new "Dancing with the Stars" pro dancer Peta Murgatroyd recalled that on "9/11 I was getting ready for high school..will #neverforget the feeling of watching it unfold. My heart is heavy, thank u to all that served"

There were also plenty of memorials and remembrances devoted to those lost and left behind in the wake of 9/11.

Brooke Burke, co-host of "Dancing with the Stars": "I'm away from Hm, but sending my family & kids to sit at the Malibu memorial. It's powerful. We had a close call 10 yrs ago I'm grateful"

"Holding all those who've suffered and those who we've lost in my prayers today. #September 11th." --Rose McGowan

Reality star Stephanie Pratt: "Lighting a candle and watching some 9-11 documentaries w my pup. My heart is heavy thinking of all the victims and their families."

Tori Spelling talked with her young children about the attacks: "took moment 2show kids&explain2them #911day .they r 2 young2 understand but Liam gasped& said "why mama? Why did all those people have2die?"

Holly Robinson Peete wrote "For the loved ones of those taken on 911 and those who have given their lives in service to our country- WE SUPPORT YOU #september11 "

"DWTS" pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy shared "Those that are lost are never forgotten. Those that have survived are that much stronger! Proud to be a New Yorker and and American!"
